Why it exists

Message threads are a hard place to run an auction.

Bids disappear

On a messaging app, a bidder can delete or edit their message, and the auction falls apart. On DropOS, a bid is permanent from the moment it's placed.

Nobody agrees who won

Scrolling through replies to find the highest bid invites arguments. DropOS records each bid with a server timestamp, so there's one clear answer.

Last-second sniping

A bid in the final moments can extend the closing time, so a piece goes to whoever wants it most, rather than whoever is quickest.

For buyers

From finding a piece to winning it.

  1. 01

    Find a piece

Search by category, size, brand and price, or follow a link from a seller you know.

  2. 02

    Check the details

Photos, condition and measurements stay locked once bidding starts. Corrections appear as visible notes.

  3. 03

    Bid and follow live

See the price and countdown update as they happen, and find out straight away if you're outbid.

  4. 04

    Win and arrange

Winning creates an order, with 48 hours to pay. The seller then ships your piece.
